Everyone knows that a little joke can go a long way during high school. So four years ago, when laughter erupted from the top of the stairwell as freshman Brenda Ramirez lay on the ground with a twisted ankle, it sparked a joke among friends that has lasted until the end of their senior year.
“She’s a really bubbly person,” said senior Azeneth Rocha Coronel. “She has a great sense of humor, mostly because she understands my humor.”
From being a funny and clumsy freshman, Brenda has matured into a friend who people count on to talk and listen seriously.
“Brenda is great at giving advice and she’s a great friend,” said senior Natalie Villalon. ”I know she’ll stand by me through thick and thin, or even when I’m in the wrong.”
Brenda also is known as a hard worker, persistent in her academic classes. She also has a passion for art, which she has taken for three years. In Art class, she loves to hang out with friends, listen to music, and paint all at once.
“I love art and how it’s a free space where I can express myself and do what I want to do,” Brenda said.
Brenda has clear goals for what she wants to achieve in the coming years.
“I want to learn and get my minor in Psychology.” she said. “But then after I want to get my major in Nursing to help provide for my family, and of course, myself.”
Brenda will continue to pursue her passions this fall at Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga.
