What was your favorite class in high school?
Photography. I took it over the summer because we were able to walk off campus and explore. I learned how to take pictures of things and gained a new perspective from that class.
What school and major did you commit to?
Biochemistry at Cal State East Bay.
I want to become a vet, so after two years at Cal State I hope to transfer to UC Davis.
What’s one thing that you are definitely going to take from your room to college?
I want to take my notebook – I like to write raps inside and I carry it with me everywhere.
What’s one thing that you accomplished in high school that you’re particularly proud of?
I’m proud of graduating this year because I’m the first out of my siblings to do it. So I feel like that’s one thing that is motivating for my younger siblings. And I am going to college, and I actually applied to college and made it.
What are three words to describe yourself?
Wise, confident, caring.
What’s your favorite movie or TV show?
Planet of the Apes, because monkeys are so smart.
What’s your favorite season?
Winter’s my favorite season because I like dressing in layers.
Do you want to thank someone especially?
I’d like to say thank you to my mom for not giving up on me. I’d also like to thank my dad for always being there when I couldn’t talk to my mom. And I want to thank my friends for being by my side. And Helen, for helping me from start to finish, freshman year to senior year. Thank you for always making sure that I’m doing my work.
