DeeAnna Jurand

What was your favorite class in high school?

AP Government, because I was interested in the material and I love Jaya (Subramanian).

What school and major did you commit to?

Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles, to major in Child Development and minor in Business Administration.

What’s one thing that you are definitely going to take from your room at home or in the dorm to your new home at college?

My bear, “Adela”, because it’s my comfort bear.

What’s one thing that you did or accomplished or experienced during high school that you’re particularly proud of?

Just finishing Eastside, since it’s a hard school and many drop out. I’m proud of passing all my classes with decent grades.

What are three words to describe yourself?

Honest, persistent, humble.

What elective or extra-curricular activity in high school was most important to you?

Theater, I did it in freshman, sophomore and junior year – because of getting over my fear of getting on stage. I couldn’t do it this year, sadly. It was something that I never got to do in middle school because I had gone to a really big middle school and I was really overwhelmed. So, being a part of theater and acting is definitely something I wanted to do. It was very important to me that I was there and showed up every single day.

What’s your favorite movie or TV show?

Shrek.

Do you want to thank someone especially? What would you like to say?

Cal, because he’s always been patient with me and definitely helped me improve my writing.

Any last words to share with Eastside?

Good luck!
